Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in NSE, the gained 0.12%, while the index gained 0.10%.

The best performers of the session on the were Reliance Industries Ltd (NS:), which rose 3.93% or 103.40 points to trade at 2,737.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Tata Steel Ltd (NS:) added 3.32% or 3.70 points to end at 115.30 and JSW Steel Ltd (NS:) was up 2.91% or 22.95 points to 811.35 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were HCL Technologies Ltd (NS:), which fell 3.08% or 35.60 points to trade at 1,122.00 at the close. Titan Company Ltd (NS:) declined 2.93% or 92.00 points to end at 3,052.00 and Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (NS:) was down 2.11% or 5.40 points to 250.05.

The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Reliance Industries Ltd (BO:) which rose 3.78% to 2,735.15, Tata Steel Ltd (BO:) which was up 3.36% to settle at 115.35 and Bharti Airtel Ltd (BO:) which gained 1.56% to close at 884.65.

The worst performers were Titan Company Ltd (BO:) which was down 3.20% to 3,044.10 in late trade, HCL Technologies Ltd (BO:) which lost 2.85% to settle at 1,124.10 and Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (BO:) which was down 2.17% to 250.05 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1202 to 780 and 69 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 2117 fell and 1436 advanced, while 154 ended unchanged.

Shares in Reliance Industries Ltd (NS:) rose to 52-week highs; up 3.93% or 103.40 to 2,737.00. Shares in JSW Steel Ltd (NS:) rose to all time highs; rising 2.91% or 22.95 to 811.35. Shares in Reliance Industries Ltd (BO:) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 3.78% or 99.70 to 2,735.15. Shares in Bharti Airtel Ltd (BO:) rose to all time highs; gaining 1.56% or 13.55 to 884.65.

The , which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 0.61% to 11.46.

Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.21% or 4.05 to $1,928.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.74% or 0.55 to hit $73.31 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.64% or 0.50 to trade at $77.97 a barrel.

USD/INR was down 0.01% to 82.61, while EUR/INR rose 0.41% to 90.52.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.14% at 102.09.
