Investing.com – U.S. stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NYSE, the added 0.62%, while the index gained 0.24%, and the index climbed 0.18%.
The best performers of the session on the were Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:), which rose 2.79% or 0.89 points to trade at 32.74 at the close. Meanwhile, Amgen Inc (NASDAQ:) added 2.78% or 6.08 points to end at 224.73 and Home Depot Inc (NYSE:) was up 2.51% or 7.60 points to 310.41 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Verizon Communications Inc (NYSE:), which fell 2.12% or 0.76 points to trade at 35.14 at the close. Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:) declined 1.60% or 5.39 points to end at 331.83 and The Travelers Companies Inc (NYSE:) was down 1.51% or 2.59 points to 169.06.
The top performers on the S&P 500 were Wynn Resorts Limited (NASDAQ:) which rose 5.69% to 107.09, MGM Resorts International (NYSE:) which was up 5.60% to settle at 45.51 and Enphase Energy Inc (NASDAQ:) which gained 5.60% to close at 175.47.
The worst performers were FMC Corporation (NYSE:) which was down 11.18% to 92.60 in late trade, Corteva Inc (NYSE:) which lost 5.57% to settle at 54.11 and DISH Network Corporation (NASDAQ:) which was down 2.75% to 7.08 at the close.
The top performers on the NASDAQ Composite were Mobilicom Ltd ADR (NASDAQ:) which rose 88.00% to 2.82, Jupiter Wellness Inc (NASDAQ:) which was up 50.27% to settle at 0.55 and Alpine 4 Holdings Inc (NASDAQ:) which gained 40.48% to close at 2.36.
The worst performers were Tivic Health Systems Inc (NASDAQ:) which was down 35.98% to 0.07 in late trade, Neonode Inc (NASDAQ:) which lost 35.20% to settle at 4.75 and Better Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ:) which was down 19.64% to 0.90 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the New York Stock Exchange by 2053 to 893 and 92 ended unchanged; on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange, 2291 rose and 1218 declined, while 142 ended unchanged.
Shares in FMC Corporation (NYSE:) fell to 52-week lows; losing 11.18% or 11.65 to 92.60. Shares in Tivic Health Systems Inc (NASDAQ:) fell to all time lows; falling 35.98% or 0.04 to 0.07.

Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.08% or 1.60 to $1,930.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.91% or 0.67 to hit $73.19 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.78% or 0.61 to trade at $77.86 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.30% to 1.10, while USD/JPY fell 0.52% to 141.32.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.32% at 101.62.
