Kerala Chief Minister, Pinarayi Vijayan, will inaugurate the two-day Invest Kerala Global Summit (IKGS 2025) at Lulu International Convention Centre on Friday. The event showcases the State’s strategic advantages as a sustainable destination for a wide range of enterprises.
Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari (Road Transport and Highways), Piyush Goyal (Commerce and Industry) and Jayant Chaudhary (Skill Development and Entrepreneurship) will address the opening session.
Over 3000 delegates are attending the conclave, which will focus on various verticals such as AI & Robotics, Aerospace & Defence, Logistics, Maritime and Packaging, Pharma, Medical Devices & Biotech, Renewable Energy, Ayurveda, Food Tech, High Value-Added Rubber Products, Tourism & Hospitality and Recycling & Waste Management.
The meeting will proceed on a structured agenda shaped on insights from a series of domain-specific pre-summit conclaves, strategic sessions and road shows held in the last few months, said a press note.
According to State Industries Minister P.Rajeeve, the government will see that the investment proposals made at IKGS will be converted into actual projects, and put on public domain the progress of their implementation.
Investment potential
The investment potential of the tourism sector will be presented before a wider audience including leaders from the tourism and hospitality industry. Tourism contributes over 10 per cent to the State’s GDP and engages 24 per cent of the workforce. The state attracts approximately 2.3 crore tourists annually, drawn by its diverse offerings. Today, Kerala has firmly established itself as a global tourism destination.
The meet will also showcase the scope of investment in tourism-related start-ups, in the backdrop of Tourism Department’s partnership with Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) for leveraging innovative ideas and technologies to present tourism products.
