ICAR-Indian Institute of Horticultural Research will organise the National Horticulture Fair-2025 from February 27 to March 1 in Bengaluru. The event is being organised in collaboration with the Society for Promotion of Horticulture (SPH); BESST- HORT, a Technology Business Incubator ICAR-IIHR; ICAR-ATARI Bengaluru along with all the leading development departments, institutions and firms serving for promotion of horticulture and allied sectors.
The theme of the National Horticulture Fair 2025 is “Horticulture for Viksit Bharat — Nutrition, Empowerment and Livelihood” focusing on showcasing and promoting varieties and technologies to improve nutrition through crops and varieties, which are nutritionally rich, empowering needy farmers with need-based information, technologies and programmes on various aspects of horticultural crops.
The event is focused on technologies suitable for socio-economically deprived groups and to improve the productivity, income and livelihood in horticultural crops, which are socially compatible, economically acceptable environmentally safe are available, IIHR said in a statement.
Highlights of the show
The institute is displaying more than 250 varieties and technologies developed by ICAR-IIHR in crop production, crop protection, post-harvest management, value addition, machinery and tools in horticultural crops.
The highlights of NHF 2025 include live demonstration of ICAR-IIHR developed varieties and technologies. Showcasing of vertical farming and terrace farming for urban horticulture, Centre of Excellence on protected cultivation of different horticulture crops. More than 250 stalls on innovative technologies in horticulture and other related enterprises will be set up at the event.
The event will also conduct skill oriented workshops on mushroom production, protected cultivation including vertical farming, terrace gardening. Consultation and advisory on field-based problems in different horticultural crops and sale of seeds, planting materials new varieties and hybrids, process products, equipments and machinery will be carried out at the event.
