Shares of Shriram Finance, NTPC, Mahindra & Mahindra, Adani Ports, and Hindalco topped the list of gainers among Nifty 50 components, while HDFC Bank, Maruti, Tata Consumers, Tech Mahindra and ITC depreciated.
Leading the pack of gainers intraday was Shriram Finance, which surged 3.36 per cent to reach a last traded price (LTP) of ₹576.55. NTPC followed closely with a 3.32 per cent increase, trading at 325.25.
Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) gained 2.83 per cent to trade at 2835.35.
Adani Ports recorded a 2.72 per cent rise, reaching ₹1112.3, while Hindalco rose 2.16 per cent to 639.85.
On the other side, HDFC Bank experienced the sharpest fall, declining 2.17 per cent to ₹1689.8, indicating selling pressure. Maruti Suzuki stock dropped 2.12 per cent to ₹12,417.8.
Tata Consumer Products fell 1.75 per cent to ₹1007.35, while Tech Mahindra dropped by 1.25 per cent to 1664.65.
ITC also trading in the red, falling 1.19 per cent to ₹401.55
The broader market traded in red, Sensex declining 217.36 pts or 0.29 per cent to 75,721.82 as at 1.44 pm, and Nifty 50 traded at 22,903.80, down 29.10 pts or 0.13 per cent.
