Kaynes Technology which is building a ₹3,300 crore semiconductor unit at Sanand in Gujarat on Wednesday announced that it will commission a pilot production line and will begin assembly, testing and packing semiconductor chips in June 2025.

On Wednesday, a ground-breaking ceremony was held for this new semiconductor unit which is being set up by Kaynes Semicon Private Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Kaynes Technology India Ltd. The company said that by January 2026 the main production line will be commissioned.

The capacity of this unit will be to assemble, test, mark and packing of 60 lakh chips per day. The chips from this unit will cater to a wide variety of applications which include segments such as industrial, automotive, electric vehicles, consumer electronics, information technology, telecom, mobile phones, etc.

Kaynes also announced that it has entered into a multi-year, multi-million-dollar partnership with Alpha and Omega Semiconductor Ltd (AOS), for a global supplier of semiconductor chip products like Power Mosfets , IGBTs, and IPMs.

Kaynes also said that it has signed agreements with various technology and supply chain partners. Similar agreements for strategic cooperation with eight institutions for skill development in the semiconductor sector were also announced.
