In an effort to make an ambulance available in 15 minutes, Zenzo launched its aggregator service, with a fleet of 25,000 ambulances and across 450 cities, even as it looks to train Zomato delivery partners in becoming a first responder, if required.

The service promises “one nation, one price”, and at a single number (1800 102 1298) for private ambulances that are either owned by Zenzo, an emergency ambulance service provider, or other service providers. The service is priced at ₹1500 for a basic life support ambulance covering 5 kilometres (with ₹50 for every additional kilometre), or ₹2,500 for an advanced life support ambulance (at ₹100 for every kilometer), said Sweta Mangal, Zenzo Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer. The service also has 5-G enabled cardiac ambulances that will relay realtime data to the hospital where the patient is being taken, a doctor with the ambulance service said. The ambulance service prices are competitive, compared to others in the segment, Mangal told businessline, adding that the initiative saw about a ₹5 crore investment in technology, in the post-Covid years. The venture would be supported by Zenzo’s existing call centre at Dadar, she said, adding that more regional coordinating centres could come up as the service expands.

Zenzo has trained about 9000 Zomato delivery partners, who would be able to be a first responder, in an emergency situation, a company representative said. Zenzo is the brand from the ₹600-crore Zenplus, erstwhile ZHL, in which MUrgency holds a majority stake. Zenzo works with several state governments, besides handling similar emergency work for the Reliance Foundation, among others. The late Ratan Tata had invested in MUrgency (2016).
