Shares of SBI Life, Bajaj Finserv, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, Trent and Axis Bank emerged among top gainers of Nifty 50 pack, while BPCL, Britannia, Wipro, Hero Motocorp and Asian Paints declined.
Pharma and banking stocks gained, while oil & gas, IT and FMCG stocks slipped. The broader index traded in green. Sensex was up 232.13 pts or 0.31 per cent to 74,061.04 as at 12.31 pm, and Nifty 50 inched up 70.50 pts or 0.31 per cent to 22,467.70.
Top gainers & losers
SBI Life Insurance stock led the Nifty 50 gainers with a 3.55 per cent increase to ₹1,434.75. Bajaj Finserv followed with a 3.46 per cent gain at ₹1,870.05.
Pharma major Dr Reddy’s Laboratories rose 3.03 per cent to ₹1,141.5. Trent gained 2.39 per cent to ₹5,142.5 and Axis Bank was up 2.23 per cent to ₹1,032.75.

On the flip side side, BPCL shares fell 2.13 per cent to ₹258.777. FMCG major Britannia declined 1.74 per cent to ₹4,645.85.
IT stock Wipro dropped 1.65 per cent to ₹259.65. Auto stock Hero Motocorp decreased by 1.51 per cent to ₹3,475.95 and Asian Paints fell 1.18 per cent to ₹2,205.
Shares of Maruti Suzuki slipped to trade in red after it announced price hike (up to 4 per cent) effective from April 2025.
A total of 2,848 stocks were traded on the National Stock Exchange at the time of writing, of which 1,157 advanced and 1,610 declined. The 302 stocks that hit a 52-week low on the NSE include MobiKwik, Ola Electric, Happiest Minds, LTIMindtree and Hyundai Motor India.
Among the Sensex pack, Samhi Hotels and Elgi Equipments soared 7 per cent. Firstsource Solutions, Senco Gold and MTNL plunged over 7 per cent.
