And the FTAV charts quiz winner is . . .

Writing the FTAV Friday charts quiz winner post is easy today, as there were zero correct entries. Yep, not a single one of you managed to correctly identify all three charts. In fact, no one even came close.

A lesser blog might admit that the difficulty level was clearly set at a preposterous level, and apologise for any mental anguish caused. Alphaville can only regretfully conclude that none of you truly loves bonds.

Here’s what you should have guessed.

That chart shows the price of the Austrian century bond maturing in 2117.

That one shows the spread between the yield of the off-the-run nine-year Treasury note and the on-the-run 10-year US Treasury note.

And that one shows the spread between the average yield of triple-C corporate bonds and the average yield of US high-yield bonds more broadly.

Bryce is doing the charts quiz later this week, and has promised to lower the bar a few notches so that you won’t be asked to do the chart-identification version of this:
