The shares of Bharat Forge Limited (BFL) were trading at ₹1,091.35 down by ₹13.30 or 1.20 per cent on the NSE today at 12.05 pm.
Bharat Forge Limited (BFL), the Pune-based multinational, unveiled two significant aerospace collaborations at Aero India 2025 on February 12. The company announced a partnership with Liebherr-Aerospace & Transportation SAS to establish a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Pune, featuring a ring mill for producing landing gear components.
In a separate announcement the same day, BFL signed a Memorandum of Understanding with VEDA Aeronautics to develop unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and high-speed aerial weapon systems for defence applications. Under this agreement, BFL will supply micro jet engines for VEDA’s unmanned systems, with its 40 and 45 Kgf engines already in serial production.

The Liebherr facility, scheduled to be operational in 2025, aims to serve global aerospace industry demands. According to Guru Biswal, BFL’s Aerospace CEO, the company will focus on developing indigenous jet engines up to 400 Kgf thrust for Indian defence forces as part of its collaboration with VEDA.
These partnerships align with India’s “Make in India” initiative and strengthen BFL’s position in the aerospace and defence sectors. The company, known primarily for automotive components, has been expanding its aerospace capabilities while maintaining its presence across five countries globally.
