Biofactor, University of Hyderabad tie up for nanotechnology-driven sustainable farming solutions

Biofactor, a Hyderabad-based agricultural biotechnology company, has signed an agreement with the School of Engineering Sciences & Technology, University of Hyderabad (UoH), to develop nanotechnology-driven solutions for sustainable farming.

The two organisations will conduct research on the synthesis of novel nanoparticles with versatile applications across diverse sectors. “We will collaborate on research focused on toxicity assays of nanoparticles, ensuring safety and environmental compatibility,” a Biofactor statement said here on Monday.

The UoH would also provide training for scientists and technical staff in the synthesis, toxicity evaluation, and application of nanotechnology.

Devesh Nigam, Registrar of UoH, and Laxmi Narayana Reddy, CEO of Biofactor, signed the agreement.

The agreement also facilitates internship opportunities for the UoH in Biofactor in projects related to the application of nanotechnology in agriculture, poultry and fisheries.
