CAAR, IIT Madras, and SAEINDIA ink pact to boost automotive R&D

In a move aimed at advancing automotive research and professional development, the Centre of Excellence in Advanced Automotive Research (CAAR) and the Society of Automotive Engineers India (SAEINDIA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The agreement, formalised on February 14, aims to promote collaboration in organizing joint conferences and professional development programmes in the automotive and off-highway sectors.

CAAR, established under the guidance of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras, is a globally recognized research institution dedicated to providing cutting-edge technology and policy advisory services to the automotive industry. The Centre also plays a crucial role in human capital development through advanced research initiatives, according to a statement.

“This initiative will benefit the auto industry by upskilling professionals in emerging technologies and fostering collaboration between industry and academia, said Thiru Srinivasan, CEO, CAAR.

Under this partnership, CAAR will contribute its expertise by providing knowledge resources, courses, research papers, and subject matter experts to support industry-focused initiatives. Additionally, CAAR will help shape the technological roadmap for the sector. Meanwhile, SAEINDIA will take the lead in organizing conferences and other professional development programs, ensuring alignment with industry needs and competencies.
