Expo at Invest Kerala Summit focuses on the State’s industrial growth

Showcasing Kerala’s industrial growth, opportunities and investment potential, the 2-day investment summit (Invest Kerala Global Summit) exhibited products of various industrial sectors at an expo at the Lulu International Convention Centre at Bolgatty.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan inaugurated the expo along with Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal. The products ranging from traditional industries to start-ups concentrating in future technologies from MSME to Ayurveda and health food were displayed. There are more than 100 stalls in the expo which showcase 22 priority sectors of Kerala.

The State Industries Minister P Rajeeve said that the expo demonstrates the industrial landscape of the State for the investor community, highlighting the industry-friendly policies to woo investors.

The micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) contributing to the State’s industrial progress include those in the food processing, manufacturing, and rubber sectors. The Ayurveda and healthcare sectors encompass a wide range of products, including traditional massage tables, Ayurveda travel kits, and health food.

The indigenously built aircraft carrier INS Vikrant greets visitors at the Cochin Shipyard pavilion. A model of the country’s first water metro also attracts visitors.

A special stall showcases the potential and opportunities of the Vizhinjam port. The private sector Samudra Shipyard from Alappuzha highlights investment opportunities within the state’s maritime and boat building sector.

Installing the BrahMos supersonic missile on the Sukhoi-30 fighter aircraft was a complex process in defence technology. BrahMos’s Thiruvananthapuram centre showcases this remarkable achievement of India.

State government institutions such as the Kerala Coir Development Corporation, Keltron, Kerala State Bamboo Mission, Hantex, Khadi, Cashew Development Corporation, Kerala Soaps, and K-Fon showcase the public sector’s prowess.

The exhibitions of the State’s start-ups like Genrobotics and Irov Technologies are also displayed. Bandicoot robot, which has revolutionised cleaning utility holes and helps end manual scavenging was also exhibited.

Fuselage Innovation, an agricultural drone manufacturer which received export orders has also displayed its products.
