Fanatics, a US-based digital sports platform, has announced the launch of its new Digital Sports Innovation Centre and doubling its technical workforce in Hyderabad to 500 people, up from the current 250, in the next two years. It also announced that it would move into a new, bigger space next year, which would be three times bigger than the present facility with 40,000 sft.
The company started its operations in 2018 by setting up its technology innovation centre.
The company appointed Abhishek Dhasmana as Vice-President and General Manager to drive its operations in Hyderabad.
Matthias Spycher, Interim Chief Technology Officer of Fanatics, said that through the Fanatics platform, sports fans bought licensed fan gear, jerseys, lifestyle and streetwear products, headwear, and hardgoods; and collected physical and digital trading cards, sports memorabilia, and other digital assets.

Addressing a press conference on Thursday, he said the company built a database of over 100 million global sports fans. “We have a global partner network with over 900 sports properties, including major national and international professional sports leagues, players associations, teams, and colleges,” he said.
Besides, it was present in over 2,000 retail locations.
