Harivansh Chaturvedi receives AIMS Ravi J Matthai Fellowship for contributions to management studies

Harivansh Chaturvedi, a renowned educationist and former Director of Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH), has been conferred the AIMS Ravi J Matthai National Fellowship Award at the AIMS annual management convention in Meerut, UP.

The award recognises outstanding contributions to management education and research and is named after Ravi J Matthai, a distinguished management expert and former Director of IIM Ahmedabad.

Dr Chaturvedi has made significant contributions to management education and research, with a remarkable career spanning over 45 years. Some of his notable achievements include being Director, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Director General, Indian Institute of Leadership Management (IILM), New Delhi.

The 35th AIMS Annual Management Convention brings together management experts, academicians, and industry leaders to discuss contemporary issues and trends in management education and research. This event provides a platform for knowledge sharing, networking, and collaboration among stakeholders in the management education ecosystem.

The awards ceremony was held at the Master School of Management, Meerut, a management institute offering various postgraduate and doctoral programmes.

The conferment of the AIMS Ravi J Matthai National Fellowship Award on Dr Harivansh Chaturvedi is a testament to his dedication, expertise, and commitment to management education and research, said the citation.

The award is named after Ravi J Matthai, a distinguished management expert and former Director of IIM Ahmedabad. He is also the co-founder of the Institute of Rural Management, Anand. Matthai’s legacy continues to inspire management education and research in India.

The award has been conferred in the past on many distinguished academicians and corporate professionals. Some of them are Dr C Rangarajan, former Governor of RBI; industrialist Kumar Mangalam Birla; JJ Irani, former MD of Tata Steel; and Dr RA Mashelkar, Mohandas Pai, Anish Shah, and Jairam Varadaraj of Elgi Equipments, among others.
