Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has introduced a new EX variant of its Exter Hy-CNG Duo, priced at ₹7,50,700 (ex-showroom). Aiming to offer an affordable and fuel-efficient bi-fuel option, the latest model will target younger, eco-conscious drivers.
The Exter Hy-CNG Duo EX variant is powered by a 1.2-litre bi-fuel Kappa petrol engine, according to a statement.
Mr. Tarun Garg, Whole-Time Director and Chief Operating Officer of HMIL, said the addition of this EX variant broadens Hyundai’s green mobility portfolio and makes sustainable driving more accessible to a wider range of customers.
The new EX variant comes equipped with features such as six airbags, a 10.67 cm (4.2-inch) color TFT digital display, signature H-LED tail lamps, driver seat height adjustment, and keyless entry. Its dual-cylinder layout also improves boot space, enhancing its usability for both daily commutes and longer road trips.
Hyundai has reported strong growth in its CNG car segment. Domestic CNG vehicle sales penetration rose to 13.2 per cent in FY25 from 11.4 per cent in FY24. The company currently offers Hy-CNG technology in three models—the Aura, Grand i10 NIOS, and Exter (Hy-CNG Duo). Combined, these models saw the share of CNG variants rise to 40.7 per cent in FY25, up from 35.7 per cent the previous year.
