IIM Kozhikode launches one-year Diploma in Management

IIM Kozhikode is adding to the portfolio of courses it offers with the launch of its Diploma in Management (DiM), a one-year full-time programme designed to cater to professionals and aspiring managers seeking to advance their careers and acquire current management skills.

This programme, says the Institute, is a step in aligning with the evolving needs of professionals and India’s National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

The DiM is strategically positioned to bridge the gap between certificate-level courses and degree programmes, offering a practical, industry-relevant curriculum that combines academic rigour with real-world insights.

The programme introduces participants to a blended learning approach, including classroom sessions, live virtual classes, and asynchronous content, with a focus on general management areas as well electives like AI, fintech, business analytics, and digital marketing. Participants will benefit from workshops on specialised topics led by industry experts who will be spearheading 20 per cent of the curriculum and also mentor students on professional development. Students will also have the flexibility of credit transfer facilities to MBA progammes as part of DiM which will have two in-campus modules (five days each).

Speaking on the launch, Prof. Debashis Chatterjee, Director of IIM Kozhikode, said: “The Diploma in Management is our answer to the growing demand for skilling and reskilling in a rapidly evolving job market. This programme represents the spirit of innovation and inclusivity that drives our institution, providing professionals with the tools they need to lead with impact in the modern world.”

With eligibility criteria that ensures inclusivity for graduates and diploma holders with professional experience, the programme will admit participants based on a comprehensive selection process, including the IIMK DMAT (Diploma in Management Aptitude Test) followed by personal interviews.

The first cohort is scheduled to commence in the third week of May for the academic year 2025-2026. With plans to introduce specialisations in subsequent years and options for credit transfer to IIM’s MBA programmes, the DiM expects to be a game-changer for professionals aiming to upgrade their skills through executive education programmes. This participants on completion of the programme will also get Executive Alumni status and be part of the 10,000-plus strong global alumni network of IIMK.
