Julius Baer, the largest foreign wealth manager in India, has announced the appointment of Guneet Singh as new Group Head, reporting directly to Umang Papneja, CEO of Julius Baer India.
Prior to joining Julius Baer, Singh led the private banking and global private client business at HDFC Bank, where he managed clients across the country.

Singh, has been focused on strategically expanding Julius Baer’s presence across the country. He will be a key member of the firm’s leadership team and will play an important role in driving the firm’s footprint in high-growth wealth markets across the country.
Singh brings over 24 years of expertise in the wealth management industry.
His deep understanding of the Indian market, coupled with his proven experience in managing client relationships, will be instrumental in advancing Julius Baer’s growth initiatives and strengthening its leadership position in India.
Regional appointments
As part of Julius Baer’s strategic expansion into fast-growing wealth markets in the West, South, and East, key regional appointments are being made to enhance the team and reinforce the firm’s onshore presence. Mayur Bhat joins as Team Head in Mumbai, further expanding the firm’s presence in the West and driving the firm’s growth in the region. Mayur previously served as Senior Market Head, Private Banking at HDFC Bank. Deepak Chivukula will take on the role of Team Head in Hyderabad, strengthening Julius Baer’s presence in the South. He was formerly Zonal Head, Private Banking at ICICI Bank. Niloy Dey has been appointed Team Head in Kolkata to lead its growth in Eastern India. Prior to this, he served as East Head, Private Banking at HDFC Bank. All will report directly to Guneet Singh, who is spearheading the firm’s efforts to drive growth across these critical markets.
