arnataka Budget Session Today, CM Siddaramaiah’s 16th Karnataka Budget 2025 announcements live news updates: As Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah prepares to present his 16th budget today (March 7), he faces the challenge of balancing development projects and welfare schemes.

The total budget size for 2025-26 is expected to be over ₹4 lakh crore, up from ₹3.71 lakh crore in 2024-25. The government is likely to increase spending on welfare programmes beyond the ₹52,000 crore allocated last year, as more people are expected to benefit from them.

At the same time, the Chief Minister is considering increasing capital expenditure, which was ₹55,877 crore last year. Higher spending on infrastructure could help industries grow, especially after the Invest Karnataka 2025 – Global Investors’ Meet, which aimed to attract ₹10.27 lakh crore in investments and create around 6 lakh jobs.

The budget may also include incentives for industries, particularly in the green energy sector. The government believes that its welfare programmes are ensuring families receive a basic monthly income of ₹10,000, which helps promote social and economic stability.
