Letter: Disappointing letter

I am writing to comment on the letter by Desmond Lachman printed in your February 17 edition. The original comment by Sir Alec Douglas-Home, comparing Mrs Khrushchev unfavourably to Mrs Kennedy, was misogynistic, yet in the context of the time and situation may have been acceptable.

Printing a letter in 2025 making that same comparison, and even adding a photo of Jackie Kennedy, presumably to make the point even more strongly, seems like an endorsement by the FT of the attitude. Very disappointing.
