Lucid Group Inc (NASDAQ:) is recalling 637 Lucid Air vehicles made in 2022-2023, according to a filing with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The startup said that flawed electrically activated switches could affect the vehicle, causing a loss of power while driving.
“This may lead to a loss of propulsion without pre-warning and may increase the risk of a crash,” the company said in the filing
“For Lucid, the safety of our customers and their families is the highest priority, and we are working to resolve this issue as quickly as is possible,” a spokesperson said in a statement. “Lucid will soon begin contacting the owners of affected vehicles to notify them of the recall and to provide further information.”
The California-based company delivered 4,494 Lucid Air vehicles as of the end of last year. Lucid said in the filing that its service centers will update the vehicle software and replace the problematic switches for free.
