The Andhra Pradesh Government has signed a memorandum of understanding with Microsoft for equipping about two lakh students and youth with skills in artificial intelligence and other advanced technologies.
“The agreement will facilitate the training of secondary school students and the youth in AI and other advanced skills. This will help them prepare for careers in IT and other industries in the State,” IT, Electronics and Education Minister Nara Lokesh said.
“As many as two lakh students and youth will get training in these technologies in just one year. The Microsoft training will help the youth catch the opportunities emerging globally in AI and advanced technologies,” he said in a statement on Thursday.

“Microsoft will impart training in AI and cloud computing to 500 teachers and 10,000 engineering students from 50 rural engineering colleges in the State. Also, 30,000 students from 30 ITIs (industrial training institutes) will be given AI training in digital productivity,” he said.
Besides, about 50,000 people will get 100 hours of AI training to improve public services. Also government officials, including from the Civil Services, will be exposed to AI skills.
