Next round of talks on Samsung Chennai strike to be held on February 19

The next round of talks between Samsung and CITU leaders representing workers belonging to the Samsung India Thozhilalargal Sangam before labour department officials, will be held on February 19, sources said.

The previous tri-partite talks held last week to end the strike at the company’s Sriperumbudur factory was inconclusive. The workers are demanding that the company revoke suspension orders given to three workers belonging to the Sangam. However, the company is not willing to accept this.

The CITU escalated the protest with a gathering at Kanchipuram on Monday.
