Nine workers were injured in an accident that occurred at Tata Steel’s Kalinganagar on Friday l.
The injured were immediately taken to Tata Steel Medica Hospital and one of the workers was discharged after receiving first aid, the company said in a statement.
A medical team is currently attending to the injured and has confirmed that everyone is now out of danger.
“We are committed to providing them the best possible care and all necessary efforts are being made to ensure their well-being,” said the company.
The incident has been intimated to the concerned authorities and the family members of the injured persons, it added.
The incident site at the Steel Melt Shop has been barricaded and internal investigations are underway.
“We are taking all necessary steps to address the situation. There is no impact on production,” it said.
