Share prices of Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd., Bharti Airtel Ltd., ICICI Bank Ltd., Tech Mahindra Ltd., and HCL Technologies Ltd. emerged as the top gainers on Monday.

Among the major decliners were shares of PowerGrid Corporation of India Ltd., Tata Steel Ltd., Zomato Ltd., Titan Company Ltd., and Bajaj Finance Ltd.

The BSE Sensex witnessed a sharp decline amid renewed trade war concerns. The BSE Sensex ended 0.70 per cent or 548.39 points lower at 77,311.80, while the NSE Nifty lost 0.76 per cent or 178.35 points to close at 23,381.60.

Top Gainers

Kotak Mahindra Bank led the advances, climbing 1.20 per cent to ₹1,959.45. Bharti Airtel shares showed positive momentum, rising 0.90 per cent to ₹1,692.85.

ICICI Bank gained 0.48 per cent to close at ₹1,262.90, while Tech Mahindra added 0.41 per cent to finish at ₹1,698.60. HCL Technologies completed the top five with a 0.40 per cent gain, ending at ₹1,732.95.

Top Losers

PowerGrid was the biggest loser, dropping 3.45 per cent to ₹268.70 amid the broader market weakness. Tata Steel declined 3.11 per cent to ₹134.00.

Zomato fell 2.87 per cent to ₹227.15, while Titan Company slipped 2.83 per cent to ₹3,327.10. Bajaj Finance closed 2.15 per cent lower at ₹8,288.55.

The day’s losses were primarily driven by President Trump’s announcement of new tariffs on steel and aluminum imports, which sparked concerns over global trade relations. Metal stocks were particularly hit, with the sector seeing significant selling pressure.
