The BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 closed in negative territory amid mixed market sentiment. The BSE Sensex declined 0.04 per cent or 29.47 points from its previous close of 75,996.86, while the NSE Nifty fell 0.06 per cent or 14.20 points to end at 22,945.30.

Top Gainers

NTPC led the advances, climbing 2.94 per cent to ₹311.40. Tech Mahindra shares showed strong momentum, rising 2.38 per cent to ₹1,704.50.

Zomato gained 2.15 per cent to close at ₹223.25, while Power Grid added 1.37 per cent to finish at ₹266.75. Kotak Mahindra Bank completed the top five with a 0.98 per cent gain, ending at ₹1,964.00.

Top Losers

IndusInd Bank was the biggest loser, dropping 2.38 per cent to ₹1,023.00. UltraTech Cement declined 1.60 per cent to ₹11,297.90.

The market sentiment remained cautious as investors grappled with FII outflows and pressure on the Indian rupee. The widening trade deficit, driven by rising imports and commodity prices, has added to market concerns. While some investors are seeking bargain opportunities following recent corrections, modest earnings growth and global uncertainties continue to weigh on market momentum.
