On the sidelines of Aero India 2025, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh held bilateral talks with his counterparts from Zimbabwe, Yemen, Ethiopia, Gambia, and Gabon to strengthen defence cooperation.

India signed MoUs with these nations, aiming to bolster strategic ties and expand collaboration in military training, capacity building, and institutional engagement.

In his meeting with the Defence Minister of Zimbabwe, both sides reviewed existing defence cooperation and agreed to expand collaboration in training, military courses, and capacity building for Zimbabwe’s armed forces. An MoU was signed to formalise these efforts, with both leaders expressing confidence that this would further deepen bilateral ties.

With the Ethiopian Defence Minister, discussions were conducted around growing defence partnership between the two countries. Underlining the importance of continued engagement, both sides signed an MoU.

During Singh’s meeting with the Yemeni Defence Minister, the need to enhance engagements in defence collaboration was acknowledged. They explored potential partnerships in military training, specialised courses, and capacity building for Yemen’s armed forces.

Singh and his Gambian counterpart reiterated their commitment to strengthening defence cooperation, highlighting their shared goal of expanding military ties.
