Religare Enterprises Ltd (REL), diversified financial services conglomerate, on Thursday said that its Executive Chairperson Rashmi Saluja has ceased to be a director of the company.
Meanwhile, in another exchange filing said that it’s Board of Directors had at their Meeting on February 11 appointed Praveen Kumar Tripathi, Non-Executive Independent Director, as the Chairperson of the Company until June 30, 2025.
In a filing with the stock exchanges, REL, which is in the midst of corporate takeover battle, cited a Scrutiniser report to submit that 97 per cent votes were cast in recent AGM against the resolution seeking the reappointment of Saluja on the Board of REL.
Saluja had recently moved court seeking intervention against her removal from the Board, post shareholders rejecting her re-appointment last week. In the recent AGM, Saluja did not offer herself for re-appointment as director, claiming that she was not liable to retire by rotation.
