Samsung Chennai strike deadlock continues as talks fail

Talks between Samsung and CITU leaders representing workers belonging to the Samsung India Thozhilalargal Sangam before labour department officials, failed on Wednesday. The CITU plans to intensify the protest in Sriperumbudur during the weekend, sources said.

The previous tri-partite talks held last week to end the strike at the company’s Sriperumbudur factory was inconclusive. The workers are demanding that the company revoke suspension orders given to three workers belonging to the Sangam. However, the company is not willing to accept this.

The company at the meeting said that it plans to take action against 18 more workers. This was unacceptable, sources said.

The union plans to intensify the agitation tomorrow at Kancheepuram.
