NSE has made revisions in tick size of indices, stocks and their futures and options (F&O) contracts.

The changes will be made according to the price of the security. With respect to stocks, the tick size of 0.01 and 0.05 for price below ₹250 and for price band of ₹251-1,000 respectively will be retained.

But there has been an increase in tick size for the stocks whose price is above ₹1,000. For the stocks whose price is between ₹1,001 and ₹5,000, the tick size will go up from the current 0.05 to 0.10. In case the stock price is between ₹5.001 and ₹10,000, the tick size will be changed from 0.05 to 0.50.

For stocks between ₹10,001 and ₹20,000, the tick size will go up from 0.05 to 1. And for stocks whose price is over ₹20,001, there will be an increase in tick size from 0.05 to 5. Like in the CM (cash) segment, these changes will be applied in the stock F&O segment too.

Similar measure has been taken for indices and their F&O segment as well.

If the index value is less than 15,000, the tick size will remain the same at 0.05.

For indices with values between 15,001 and 30,000, the tick size will be increased from the current value of 0.05 to 0.10. Similarly, for indices whose value is above 30,000, the tick size will be revised up from 0.05 to 0.20.

The changes will be effective from April 15 and will be based on the closing price on March 28.
