NTPC and EDF India, an arm of French firm Electricite de France, have joined hands to set up pumped hydro storage and other hydro projects bundled with renewable energy projects; they will also explore opportunities in the distribution business. NTPC and EDF India have signed a non-binding term sheet to develop, own, operate and maintain pumped storage projects and any other hydro-power projects, a statement said. Under the agreement signed on Sunday, NTPC and EDF propose to form a JVC with 50: 50 partnership after requisite approval from the Centre.
Hazoor Multi Projects Ltd has secured a ₹102-crore order to provide steel works in Maharashtra. The project has been awarded by Venkatesh Infra Projects and will be executed in six months, the company said in a statement.
Schneider Electric on Saturday announced plans to open three more manufacturing plants in India. Speaking at the inaugural session of Elecrama 2025, Schneider Electric CEO Olivier Blum said the company plans to make regular investments in India The company currently has 31 manufacturing plants in the country. The three new plants will come up at Kolkata, Hyderabad and Ahmednagar, he said at the event organised by industry body IEEMA in Greater Noida.
Vedanta Ltd has been declared the preferred bidder for a diamond mine in Madhya Pradesh The company said it is the highest bidder with a final price offer of 1.10 per cent. “The company has been declared ‘Preferred Bidder’ for the Kauhari Diamond Block,” Vedanta said in a regulatory filing. The mine is at the G4 level of exploration, with a total area of 643.4169 hectares for the block.
Swiggy will invest up to ₹1,000 crore in one or more tranches to expand its wholly-owned subsidiary ‘Scootsy Logistics’ which is engaged in the supply chain and distribution business. The investment is towards working capital and other capital expenditures as part of the company’s business expansion.

The Bharti Airtel board has approved raising the stake-holding in Airtel Africa by up to 5 per cent, the telecom firm said in a statutory filing on Friday. Airtel Africa Mauritius Ltd, which is a step-down subsidiary of Bharti Airtel, holds 57.29 per cent of Airtel Africa plc. The said acquisition is being done to increase stake in Airtel Africa plc, it said.
