Top gainers & losers intraday 6th 2025: Asian Paints, Tata Steel lead gains, Adani Energy surges 3%, Gensol locked in lower circuit

Shares of Asian Paints, BPCL, Coal India, Tata Steel and Hindalco topped the list of Nifty 50 gainers. Among the laggards were Trent, Tech Mahindra, Tata Consumer Products, Bharat Electronics and HDFC Life.

The broader index witnessed volatile trade after opening on a positive note. Sensex climbed 300.42 pts or 0.41 % to 74,030.65 as at 12.31 pm, and Nifty 50 rose 108.15 pts or 0.48% to 22,445.45.

However, the indices gave up early gains intraday as financial stocks slipped. Metal stocks continue to support market movement, while IT and financial indices catch selling pressure.

Top gainers, losers

Shares of Asian Paints led the gainers with 3.72 per cent increase to ₹2,244.55. BPCL followed with a gain of 3.49 per cent to ₹264.76.

Coal India shares rose 3.03 per cent to ₹379.4.

Tata Steel stock has continued upward moment, rising 3.01 per cent to ₹150.5.

Hindalco shares rose 2.87 per cent to ₹672.2.

On the flip side, Trent stock fell 1.71 per cent to ₹5,018.6.

Tech Mahindra followed with a decline of 1.64 per cent to ₹1,512.8.

Tata Consumer, BEL and HDFC Life shares slipped about 0.60 per cent to trade in red at ₹950.4, ₹273.11 and ₹617.2, respectively.

Adani Energy Solutions surged 3 per cent to ₹732.05. Meanwhile, Adani Green Energy, Adani Enterprises trade flat.

A majority of 2,272 stocks advanced on the National Stock Exchange, while 479 declined among the 2,817 stocks that were traded.

Among the Sensex pack, Reliance Infra, Castrol India, CreditAccess shares rallied over 11 per cent. 

In addition, oil marketing companies extended gains after crude oil prices plunged to six-month lows in the international markets.
