A woman, who was undergoing treatment for symptoms of the Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS) in the Government Hospital in Guntur in Andhra Pradesh, succumbed on Wednesday making it the third death due to the infection in the State.
Earlier, a 45-year-old woman and a 10-year-old boy died of Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS), a rare autoimmune neurological disorder, over the past two weeks according to government officials.
The woman who passed away on Wednesday was admitted to the hospital for treatment on February 2.
As per the announcement made by the State Government on Monday, 17 persons with symptoms of GBS were under treatment in the State.
