There has been much outrage expressed about the way America’s business oligarchs are cosying up to Donald Trump (“A lesson for oligarchs: politics can be deadly”, Opinion, January 17). But take the example of Mark Zuckerberg, chief executive of Meta, parent company of Facebook and owner of the WhatsApp instant messaging service.
When I WhatsApped with my wife to set out what would be the effects on our joint bank account in the event of my death, within minutes my email was bombarded with adverts for funeral homes.
If I were in this pitiful business — Big Tech not funeral homes — I, like the Meta boss, would take all the help I could get.
So all my sympathies, Zuck.
